I’m porting GMS to .NET/WPF. The result looks promising.
This is a 10.000×10.000 pixel map of the entire Europe with Karlsruhe in the middle.
And counting…
Managed to get a quick update in the weekend.
PS: The server is somehow shaking.
There is a new beta for download. It fixes the issue with big resolution maps. Now you can save over 10.000 x 10.000 pixels maps.
Based on a Firefox Hack, Google Map Saver (GMS) offers you an easy way to download huge Google Maps on your PC as JPEG, PNG-8, PNG-24 or BMP files that you can carry with your favorite device. GMS is light (only ~334 KBytes) and very easy run since doesn’t have an installer. GMS doesn’t write Windows Registry and doesn’t leaves other traces on your PC. Just download it on your Desktop and Run-It! GMS runs on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Since is using Internet Explorer for retrieving the Google Maps, GMS requires Internet Explorer to be installed on your machine.
